My name is Helen Ross, and I will be your host for today is kind of like a special report that I'm doing today, just because I was listening to the news and it was like, literally

all over the place that I have looked today, or maybe it was just me cuz I'm in the holiday buying mode

And so I have selective attention to watch out for these kinds of things

And a lot of people are shopping online and buying physical goods from retailers, like Amazon and other websites, the scammers are now targeting those major retailers and shipping companies like FedEx, UPS, DHL, and USPS, and

What they are doing or sending out emails, that look like they came from Amazon and UPS and FedEx in The Lakes

This is called fishing and the emails, look very professional and legitimate from wherever they claim to be from

There's a problem with your order or there is a problem with the delivery of your package

And there's always a link in the email for you to click on that will lead you to the shipper or retailer website and it looks totally legitimate

Well, when someone clicks on the link or button in the email, it actually opens up

Portal for the scammer to hack the computer at the user and take it over, including all of their data

And so many people have been at the mercy of the scammers and ran somewhere to get their dad as back

That is another reason, why Bitcoin used to be regulated like all of the other currencies

My point is, that has happened to very smart people that I know too as well

You should always go to the Retailer's website and login with your account

Also, Amazon have tracking where it tells you when you can expect the delivery of your package

And if your package is lost or late, Amazon will give you a refund or replacement

You can also go directly to the app of these retailers and check on the status of your order

So, be careful when you're shopping for designer or high-end items on Amazon

If I can help it because it always breaks on me and I have no way to get an Easy Exchange

And yes, I have bought warranty plans, but the warranty plans are actually owned by a third party company, and it's terrible

I bought a vacuum cleaner one time on Amazon, and I actually bought a 4 years, warranty extended warranty for the vacuum cleaner and it within two months, it broke

When do I call the warranty? And guess what? They told me they told me that I had to wait for the warranty of the real warranty on the product to expire, before that warranty that I

I thought that kicked in on day one, which it said on the listing in the website

They made me wait for the warranty from the original product to expire, which was in two years before they would even do anything about it

Why would I wait two years? So that to me right? There was a fail on Amazon part and also the third party, it was there for them just to make the extra money off of me

for find the warranty and never planning anybody to wait, two years out to go, get a new vacuum cleaner

Who does that? So, ever since that experience? I have never ever ever bought another electronic item on Amazon

Princess, buying printers and other electronic items on Amazon with extended warranty

And I've had the same thing happened to me where they make me wait for the original product warranty to expire before the additional warranty that that I bought even kicked in, even though the listing before

I bought, it said that it would kick in on the first day to cover the product

So that was a false advertisement right there, which I brought it up to them and they didn't care

So I will never ever waste money on those extended warranty again, from Amazon

And they never and then ended up never replacing or fixing or refunding

They said that I have to ship D, vacuum cleaner to some third-party repair facility that was gun

And I looked into it and the cost to ship that vacuum cleaner to that facility cost me more than the vacuum cleaner itself

So, why would I do that? And then you're responsible for shipping for the shipping fee, from the facility, back to you

So then again, I would rather go out and buy to vacuum cleaners for that price rather than getting a refurbished vacuum cleaner that I have to then again, pay twice for so

I think I mean, to me that's like a total no-brainer, but maybe some people are more courageous than Me and they actually go online and buy high-end expensive

Either there was a documentary and I forgot what channel it was on, but I'm sure you can Google it and go on YouTube, and if I find it on YouTube, I will add that link down

And the documentary shows that they're there were a seller's that were dumpster diving for food, stuff, food, supplements, and cosmetics items from retailers backdoor dumpsters, and then selling those items on Amazon

You why would you ever need to buy food items from Amazon? Anyways, most local grocery stores now have apps and available grocery delivery services

You can even order online and pick up the items at the stores or the drive-thru

So anyways, I was just wanting to give you guys a quick Special Report update

That is an additional to the normal podcast series, especially for the holidays and we definitely need to watch out for all these scammers that are disguising themselves as legitimate retailers and shippers
